PHLEBOTOMY PROGRAM

PROGRAM SUMMARY
The Phlebotomy Technician Certificate will prepare students to work as phlebotomists, collecting blood from patients and preparing the samples for testing. Upon successful completion, students will earn the Yavapai College's Phlebotomy Technician Certificate.  In order to enroll in this program, a student must have successfully completed either the MICTED Certified Nursing Assistant program OR the Medical Assisting program. 
 
CAREER SNAPSHOT
The Phlebotomy certificate prepares students for employment as a phlebotomist in a hospital or clinic setting.

CREDITS

• Yavapai College credits are earned after completing the semester with a passing grade (C or better).

• HS credits will be awarded at the end of each semester

• 8 YC credits will be awarded upon successful completion of the program.  If a student has already completed AHS100 as part of another program then a total of 5 YC credits will be awarded upon the successful completion of the program.

Grade Level Requirement:
Junior – Senior AND must be 18 years old.

  • Successful completion of MICTED's Certified Nursing program OR Medical Assisting program.
