The Democratic Women of the Prescott Area are pleased to offer four $2000 scholarships for the 2025–26 school year. We seek applicants who will benefit from this assistance as they continue their education or training beyond high school. The Deadline to submit in March 17, 2026. To qualify, students must be graduating from a public high school in the Prescott, Prescott Valley, Chino Valley, or Mayer area and plan to pursue post-secondary education. Applicants must be registered or pre-registered Democrats, or have a parent, grandparent, or guardian who is a registered Democrat. Scholarships are not gender-based.
Applicants will submit a one-page essay responding to: What are your academic and career/occupational goals, and how will this scholarship help you achieve them? Essays should reflect the student’s personality, experiences, and authentic voice. Application packets will also be evaluated on school achievements and goals, career/occupational interests, community involvement, leadership and initiative, and individuality.
In addition to the essay, students must submit a completed application, a summary of school and community activities and college or program applications, and one letter of recommendation. DWPA’s goal is to encourage young people to become active contributors to society and to support students who may be struggling, have overcome obstacles, and demonstrate a commitment to community service. Letters of recommendation that address these efforts are especially helpful.
