Adult Career Training Programs: NOW At Mountain Institute!

Mountain Institute now offers hands-on career training programs designed to help adults build practical skills and prepare for employment in growing industries. Our programs provide career-focused instruction, real-world experience, and opportunities to earn industry certifications.

Adult students can enroll in Dental Assisting, Veterinary Assisting, and Cosmetology, where they’ll learn from experienced instructors in hands-on training environments that reflect real workplace settings. Students develop industry-relevant skills and will have opportunities to earn industry certifications that support entry into their chosen field. Cosmetology

Program Summary

Our Cosmetology Program is a 2 to 3 year program, and is designed to give students a head start in the beauty industry through a comprehensive, hands-on learning experience. Over the course of three years, students build the technical skills, professional confidence, and industry knowledge needed for real-world success. This program will prepare students for state licensure and immediate entry into a high-demand, high-creativity career field.

Program Tuition

Mountain Institute bills adult students on a per-semester basis. The Cosmetology program consists of six semesters. Students are charged an estimated $3,203.04 per semester, for a total estimated program cost of $19,218.24. These estimates are based on the 2025–2026 school year program costs. The final program cost will be confirmed in the summer prior to the start of the program, once the State of Arizona finalizes the budget.

In addition to tuition costs there will be some additional Lab Fees to cover the use of consumable supplies used during instruction. All costs will be finalized and communicated to students during the summer, before the start of the program.

Dental Assisting

Program Summary

Our Dental Assisting Program is a one year program that provides students with the foundational skills and knowledge needed to support dentists in delivering high-quality patient care. This program offers hands-on training where students learn to assist Dentists by preparing treatment rooms, assisting in dental procedures, sterilizing instruments, and maintaining patient records. Dental Assistants can work in dental offices, clinics, and other healthcare environments.

Veterinary Assisting

Program Summary

Our Veterinary Assisting program is a one year program that prepares students for entry level positions in Veterinary clinics, grooming facilities, boarding facilities and many more. Students develop skills in patient care, clinical procedures and animal behavior management. This training prepares them to safely care for domestic, exotic and large animals i.e. cats, dogs, birds, reptiles, horses and livestock.

In addition to the core curriculum, students develop skills that will prepare them for the job seeking process through externships, resume building workshops and work ethic training. The successful completion of this program requires students to complete clinical hours in a professional animal care setting. These hours may occur outside of normal class time hours. The amount of clinical hours required will be based on the certification the student decides to pursue.
