"I always just liked working with my hands and tinkering with stuff. When I learned about the program, I thought it was a really cool experience and opportunity."
That curiosity led him to Mountain Institute, where he completed the Automotive Repair program! During his automotive training, Taylor gained hands-on experience with engines, transmissions, braking systems, electrical systems, suspension, steering, and preventative maintenance.
His favorite part? Getting into the shop! "It was really fun and enjoyable to go into the shop and actually put our hands on what we're learning about and see physically how things work."
But Taylor's experience at Mountain Institute has already paid off in a big way - he recently landed a job at a mechanic shop! Taylor credits the combination of practical experience and industry certifications he earned through the program for helping him get hired. "You not only get the knowledge and experience, but you also get certifications proving you have that knowledge."
And he's not stopping there! Taylor hopes to eventually rebuild cars and possibly even own his own automotive shop.
