PROGRAM SUMMARY

This Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) program prepares students to safely and professionally operate drones for real-world industry applications. Students learn about current UAS capabilities, uses, and FAA regulations, along with how drone systems, telemetry, and ground control stations work. Through hands-on training, they install and test telemetry systems, conduct range tests, and practice safe, approved flight procedures.

The program also focuses on collecting and using aerial data. Students learn how to interpret imagery from both straight-down (nadir) and angled (oblique) views, choose the right aircraft, sensor, and lens for specific missions, and turn raw data into clear, professional reports. By the end of the program, students are prepared to fly drones safely and use aerial data to support industries such as construction, agriculture, public safety, and environmental monitoring.
