After originally trying out the Vet Assisting program, she realized it wasn’t the right fit for her. Around the same time, she applied (and was accepted!) to NAU with a full-ride scholarship, the new Dental Assisting program launched at Mountain Institute CTED - and it instantly clicked.
She’s loved the hands-on experience and fast-paced environment of this accelerated one-semester course. This is the first year the program is condensed into one semester, making it more intense, but she thrives in the challenge.
Her favorite part? Taking X-rays and connecting with patients. “It might sound weird to some,” she says, “but working with people’s mouths is actually really fun. You learn a lot about people and build strong bonds – both with patients and classmates.” She carries that strength and purpose with her every day, holding close the words: “God is within her, she will not fall.” — Psalm 46:5.
This semester, she and her small but mighty class of eight are training inside a real dental office before the program relocates. She shares her instructors' passion for building confidence in others, one smile at a time.
We’re proud of Jessie and can’t wait to see the bright future ahead of her! 🦷✨
