Growing up in Prescott Valley, he’s always been fascinated by flight, so when he saw the opportunity to take this program, he jumped at the chance.
With dreams of becoming an aerospace engineer and hopes of attending Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, he's taking full advantage of every opportunity. Alongside his MICTED Program, he’s also enrolled full-time at Yavapai College through the Early College program.
He notes he is learning METARs (aviation weather reports) in his classes, which prepare him for the FAA Part 107 commercial drone license. He’s excited to continue learning about advanced topics like airspace and ATC procedures.
His favorite part of the academy? The friends he’s made- like Brenden- and the sense of community. He’s even encouraged some of his peers to join CTE programs, including one who took automotive. His advice to future students: “Stay on top of your assignments, especially with a busy program like this one.”
This driven junior is already planning for sponsorships and college next year, and he's ready to take flight!
